Things that “Grind My Gears” on Facebook

1. Girls who take profile pictures with their lips poked out (the new hoodrat look aka the blowfish face)…you look like Jamie Fox when he dressed as Wonda on In Livin Color.

2. Girls that hold their stomach when posing…you look constipated!

3. Girls (or guys) who talk about all the balling they do in their status but have a damn 9 to 5!

4. Girls who flip flop their status from being in love one minute to hating the dude the next minute...keep it to yourself or get some pills for bipolar disorder!

5. Girls who take pictures in the mirror & you can see the flash…or even worse, when you can see how dirty the mirror is!

6. People who have to ASK you to “like” or “comment” on their status…stop begging for attention!

7. Girls who put in their status, “I’m going to the movies with___” or whatever with “blank”…Is “blank” even read?! Does “blank” know that he is “blank”…what you’re telling facebook is that you’re the side chick & “blank” doesn’t want people to know about…FAIL.

8. Girls who talk about what they smoking, drinking, sipping, etc. in their status…so unladylike! Does that ever really attract any respectable attention? No, really?!

9. People who post a status that they don’t want any comments on…wtf…keep it to ya damn self then or if it’s meant for someone in general…it’s called a private message, all facebook profiles have access to them!!!

10. Girls who put in their status how they love “gangstas” or “drug dealers”…you are aware that real “gangstas/drug dealers” are doing or about to do 5+ years in jail where you’ll likely be replaced by a guy named Bubba?! Read Freakonomics & learn a drug dealer’s place in an economy ran by Corporations…An intelligent woman would have in their status, “I love Business Owners”! Right?!

11. People who put profile pictures up who are of celebrities or anyone who isn’t them! Unless it is a promotion for your business, you are deceiving & no one should ever trust your page again! J

12. People who tag you in a photo that has nothing to do with you just so you can “like” or “comment” on it…refer to 6.

13. People who respond to Group or Event messages with, “why are you sending this?” Duh…if you are receiving group messages & don’t want them…REMOVE yourself…easy as pie!

14. Girls that take half naked pics with a toddler in the background…Bad mommy!

15. People who have a private, back & forth conversation on a picture or status that I’ve “liked”…jerks, INBOX!

That is All…

Honesty Box convo on Facebook.com

This is a lil convo from my honesty box, pretty interesting, lol

Constructive comment:

I would seriously suggest laying off the photoshop just a tad.
All of your photos have this really distorted, overdone, 'creamy', and cartoony look to them.

It really doesn't look professional, and that's not aimed at being an insult.

its perfectly fine, everyone has their own opinion...ive got one other comment like this but that person didnt hide behind an honesty box, no offense, but i could take what u write in here with a grain of salt, i do wanna put u up on game...ive got 2 sayin lay off on ps, but a minimum of 7 a day asking "how'd u do this" or "can u do me" or "i kno photoshop but i can figure out how to do what u do, please teach me", my fav photographer from the d that lives in LA now even gave me props on modelmayhem "09/08/08 12:20pm
thanks for the great compliment. I see that you are doing great and creating your own style which really seperates you from others!" so thanks for ur opinion, & my suggestion is maybe u should try using a lil more ps...peace fam
I would honestly say what I had to say to you on your wall - but I didn't want it to come across as rude. Honestly, it was just a subjective feeling I get when I go through your photos - like you said, everyone has their own opinion. :)

Not to mention, when you're working in a world of inexperienced people, simply eliminating a minor flaw or doing something extremely simple can come across as amazing an the untrained will 'ask how did you do that'.
thats true, then when u do what i do, u amaze them all, except the 2 of u on facebook, once again, peace fam

Duan FAME MAGAZINE hoax

Ok, ok, there are a lot of hoax out there dealing with magazines, especially internet magazines, I personally don't trust anything or anybody who does business (especially publishing) solely on the computer, give me something tangible...hence my motto, "Only trust what you can touch" which is becoming a Voist Magazine model since not only do we have a magazine "coming out" like everyone else, but we've BEEN out, lol...but here's what makes things even worse, when ppl claim to have a magazine coming out that is titled after a magazine that has already been out!!!

There is a local photographer who not only has created a bad reputation for himself, but goes further but portraying that reputation on his models he photographs. In my opinion, he is a "smut" pusher...& his girls are sometimes too dingy to realize that they look like sluts until it's too late...Each girl is depicted 80-90% nude & in most cases, isn't given the option to wear clothes when working with him...he also makes a large amount of false promises according to most of the ladies I've talked to who've worked with him...the one I choose to touch on here is FAME MAGAZINE, which continues to be in "coming out" mode, like so many other hoax magazines...

This was brought to my attention by a girl who had worked with Duane a couple years back, according to her, after she wouldn't give into his sexual advances, he posted some photos of her with the words, "Hoe" typed across them. When confronted, our source says that he claimed his friend did it...but, that's a whole nother story...it seems that FAME Magazine has been in print for years as a bodybuilding magazine...

http://blog.bodybuilding.com/DianaChaloux/2008/05/09/diana-on-the-cover-of-fame-magazine/
http://www.fameworldtour.com/

The list of links goes on & on with a .net of the hoax magazine...fyi, site creators generally when someone else owns the rights to the .com & wont sell it or the buyer cannot afford it. What will likely happen is Duane will continue to claim his magazine is "coming out" until no one believes him anymore, or he will change the name because he sees someone else has seen through his hoax, or he will come out with this magazine & get his ass sued off along with all the models affiliated with it...it will be interesting to see how this turns out...

My intentions are not to "hate" on Duane or his DXM company, but to only state facts so models entering the world of modeling are aware of what to watch out for if they do not want to be taken advantage of.

& dont forget to read my blog under this one titled,

U have to read this convo with this model

my views do not represent the views of Voist Magazine as a whole, nothing was exaggerated & any reference to an incident described by a third party model was submitted as such and not claimed by me or Voist Magazine to be fact.

U have to read this convo with this model

Ok so this is the conversation I was referring to in the msg I sent out to the Voist Magazine group members on facebook...

"I just finished a convo with one of the most arrogant & misinformed model ive spoken in the 8 years ive been working with models...i will be posting the full convo on my blog soon, make sure u check it out & comment!

voistmag.com up!"

I'm going to include all the names we referred to in hopes that some models keep them in mind for future reference...I will however protect the name of the model this conversation was with...enjoy!

Btw...I will also include my own commentary in bold blue to represent what I was thinking when reading & responding to her msgs...

Ok I can make it. & yes I know a MUA her rates are $30 per girl with lashes $35 with lashes. I'll see if she's avail. for tomorrow. How many girls do you have so far? & how quick is your photo turn around? I only shoot TF* if I can get photo's back in a timely fashion...

November 9 at 1:09am

Okay great. So I'll see you tomorrow are you gonna send out the exact address & location via facebook tomorrow? & my MUA is available for tomorrow I'm gonna use her, she can do my MU on site right?

November 9 at 1:16am
if im payin for ur make up...lemme get at u 1st thing in the morning, i get a few artists that quoted me $20 per look, one said $15 but idk if they avail

Model X

November 9 at 1:24am
LOL I'm paying for my make up hun. I'm a published Glamour with a decent fanbase and I don't even shoot without a MUA & BTW most photog's (& I've shot with everybody from Ant Eyecandy to Frank HotSauce) make the models pay for their own MU specially when shooting amatuer models who most likely need it the most.

& I'm assuming you're shooting amatuer models (you are recruiting on facebook) ?So don't worry I'm just making sure its cool she comes.

And in the future please don't even consider a MUA that ONLY charges $15-$20 LOL thats ridiculous.....

*Definition of 'published' to make available to the public...make sure you note that when some elementary school model/photographer throws that word at cha trying to sound important.

*Ladies, there is a such thing as agencies/photographers who cover all expenses, from gas to makeup...but I'm sure no one has cared enuff about this particular model to cover anything with her...in fact, most pros will tell a newbie photographer to learn a little makeup application him/herself to cut out those expenses that he/her covers...has this model not read a book on the profession she's trying to get in?!?!

*Fyi, according to her, all you facebookers out there are amateur, I guess that includes the hundreds maybe thousands of movie stars & other entertainers who have resorted to facebook to widen their fan base...there's even a group for that 'amateur' Tyra Banks, lol.

*& why is it ridiculous for a makeup artist to look out for me?! lmao...

November 9 at 1:26am
lmao, u shoot wit duan? i dont even touch none of his girls...& that whole lil msg was cute
November 9 at 1:29am
Oh, & i hope u kno, if u run a photo copy of ur photo & pass it to someone, u r considered "published" u actually "published" urself by postin a photo on facebook or any website open to the Public...

Who? If you were refering to DXM's Duane then yea I started out shooting with him I did the whole hair magazine thing & ending up becoming a DXM model. But that was like 2 yrs ago I don't even like being associated with Dyme Xtreme anymore I'm so over it. & BTW I wasn't trying 2 be funny, but if you took it that sorry. & just like you don't touch his girls I usually don't shoot with facebook photographers....

*watch that red text, there are more & more girls coming to me everyday with horror stories about him...I'm not going to bash the dude but my advice if you like his work, is to ASK AROUND!!! If you hear the same thing from multiple girls...it's probably true...another suggestion is to join the group "I Love Modeling & Photography" if you're a facebooker...the photographers that are the officers on that group should be more than enough to get you a well rounded portfolio.

November 9 at 1:38am
Oh, its kinda weird that u say im shootin amatuer models becuz im "recruiting" on facebook...is this not where i met u?!?! & i havent met a makeup artist that asked for more than $20, usually they do ask for a fav. like a couple images for their own use...but sure, u can stick to paying $30 & up, i jus look out for those who look out for me babe
November 9 at 1:42am
lmao, ure limiting urself babe, everybody on up to ABC news has a facebook page not...& thats real cute that u wanna label me a "facebook" photographer...facebook most def didnt pay for my classes, books, or 10,000 copies of my magazine to be published & printed...but sure, imma "facebook" photographer, & so has each logo that ive seen on ure pics...

Model X

November 9 at 1:48am
Yes we did cross paths on facebook but I have a pretty decent resume avail upon request so amatuer I'm not. As far as the MUA goes $30 is a very good price for a PROFESSIONALl MUA which I prefer to use. Also they typical charge $35-40 which is the pretty much the going rate in Michigan From George Mckinny to my girl good ol Facebook/MAC Cosmetics Professional MUA Brandalyn Fulton (Ref. Model Mayhem for going Michigan rates for validation). & same goes for me I always look out for those who look 4 me as well. Sorry you took offense to my advice but I've been in this for a minute & I wish you the best.....

November 9 at 2:02am
for u to have been at this for so long, ur photos are very average, mediocre at best, not saying im the best photographer, but if ur photos had impressed me, u woulda heard from me a long time ago, & as far as makeup artist, i could give a damn what the "going rate" is, my point from the beginning on that is if i can get a discount, obviously (by looking at ur photos) credentials dont mean anything, skill does, & i like/love the example work of mua that offered me those prices...its real funny how $35 is a good price, but $20 isnt a better...thats like if a photographer charged $120/hr for a dhoot & shot like duan but $45/hr & shot like davide & u would turn down davide?! u are hatin on something u kno nothing about?! u dont even kno if one of the girls im refering to is an artist for the iman makeup line that just tosses me a deal?! do me a fav & take that negative attitude & energy somewhere else, deuces!

Jay-Z a freemason?

Me & a few of my coworkers were talking when one mentioned that he heard about a couple rumors that rapper and CEO Jay-Z was/is a member of the Freemasons. While talking, I searched YouTube & actually found a video submitted by someone else based on the same speculations. There is also a rumor that the Roc A Wear logo is derived from egyptian symbols. I'm just curious to know if anyone else has any input on this. Does anyone else believe that being a freemason is a large part of the reason Jay-Z is so sucessful? And is Kanye one too? Along with Lupe?
